Environmentally Focused Use of Stainless Steel
At SST Enclosures, you can have your enclosure tailored to your wishes and requirements. The quality is top notch, and the enclosures meet extremely high industry requirements – incl. environmental.
The raw steel in SST's enclosures comes from Outokumpu in Finland, of which 94% is recycled raw steel.
As standard, this steel emits 1.7 tCO2 per produced tonnes of stainless steel – a sharp contrast to other steel from Europe, which on average emits 2.8 tCO2 per ton stainless steel produced.
In Asia, the average is as high as 8.8 tCO2 per ton stainless steel produced.
It pays off to do business locally if you prioritize your green profile.
Choose The World's Lowest CO2 Footprint
If you want an even greener profile, we also provide Outokumpu’s 'Circle Green' stainless steel, which has the lowest CO2 footprint in the world for stainless steel, for an additional cost and delivery time:
It only emits 0.5 tCO2 per ton stainless steel produced, which is 70% lower than Outokumpu's standard products. But more than that:
If you choose 'Circle Green', you get a stainless steel product that has a 93% lower CO2 footprint than the global average.
Outokumpu's production processes are approved and certified by third parties.

Responsible Consumption & Production
We have made a conscious choice to use crude steel of which 94% is recycled raw steel and has a significantly lower CO2 footprint than the European average. At the same time, we give the customer the opportunity to further optimize their product by choosing a raw steel that has the world's lowest CO2 footprint.

Climate Action
The standard raw steel in SST's cabinets emits 1.7 tCO2 per produced ton stainless steel, which is a quantum leap from the European average of 2.8 tCO2 per produced ton stainless steel – and light years from Asian steel of 8.8 tCO2 per ton stainless steel produced. If the customer wishes, we can also use 'Circle Green' stainless steel, which has the world's lowest CO2 footprint of just 0.5 tCO2 per ton stainless steel produced.
